The purpose of this chapter is to describe various cognitive, behavior, and communicative manifestations in young children with HIV/AIDS. We begin with the prevalence of the disease, then a description of its transmission, and finally a discussion of the potential and serious manifestations of the disease as well as its effects on communication.
